They are also not left behind with the tattoo art that has been popularize these days. Bunga Terung or Eggplant flower is one of the basic tattoo they got especially for the male Iban. One of my Facebook page fans has caught me with this tattoo where he uploaded his Bunga Terung tattoo photo.
Peter Grandy has uploaded this Iban Tattoo at our FB page and I make him as one of the page administrator. He’s actually a friend/cousin of mine who loves this art. We are actually Bidayuh tribe but we are all categorize in a same partition with the Ibans in Sarawak/Borneo peninsular. We are natively Borneon. No offence. We like the Iban cultures and arts that makes us one in a neighborhood.
However, the tattoo art of Bidayuh seems unclear and this is one of my research and finding for the next couple of months. I do really hope that other Bidayuh elderly will found me either by accident or via this social networking to help me spread the word of Bidayuh Tattoo.

Bunga Terung Tattoo
The spinal design at the center of the Eggplant flower tattoo design means the rope of life (Tali Nyawa).
Looking back into their old lifestyle, the tattoo is pierced by a stick that combined with a sharp needle. The skin need to be stretch tightly during the process of tattooing.
But now, the tattoo can be done with a tattoo machine gun by a tattoo artist. Of course to prevent some major ailment but the sentimental value is not there.
